Minnesota Hauntings Ghost Stories from the Land of 10,000 Lakes

The book by Ryan Jacobson is very tame. Not necessarily a book that I’d put at the leisure table, that’s for sure. But it does bring a few thoughts to mind.

Let’s begin with Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, the state’s “most legendary haunted place.” Supposedly there are phantom footsteps heard roaming the 3rd floor, cane tapping, a force that pushes visitors back stopping them from entering, and a cloaked figure is also said to appear. Blood flows from sinks and urinals in the bathroom and students are chased by a presence.

At Saint Paul’s Fitzgerald Theater objects are said to disappear and reappear in random places. Duluth’s Glensheen (the Historic Congdon Estate) and City Hall’s South Tower have apparitions and footsteps.

Wabasha Street Caves contain strange glowing orbs and supposed gangsters.

Concordia College in Moorhead is said to contain a ghost along with “proof” in the form of a letter. I’ve read this letter on pg. 111 and there is nothing scary about it.

Most of the stories contained in the book could not be corroborated. Once I find more information I will update you guys about it!
